Before you Lash

When am I not a good Candidate for Eyelash Extensions?

  • If you've ever had a reaction to lash extensions in the past you should avoid lash extentions all together.

  • If you have chronically watery eyes or allergies.

  • If you have very oily skin or hair.

  • If you are a frequent eye rubber.

  • If you are sensitive to touching of the face or eyes.

  • If you can not sit still for hours at a time.

You must have some natural eyelashes for this procedure. Extensions should not be applied on individuals who have recently completed or are undergoing chemotherapy, have alopecia, or who suffer from trichotillomania or trichosis.

Consult with your ophthalmologist for a recommendation or call for a  consultation.

If you have any eye condition where the eye does not look healthy or have an acrylic or latex allergy, you are probably not a candidate for eyelash extensions.

Can I wear makeup with lash extensions?

It is advised that you do not wear mascara.

You can wear eyeliner and eyeshadow. Remove all eye makeup with a soft cloth or q-tip and avoid rubbing your lashes.Avoid using cotton balls.

How often should I get a fill?

It is recomended that you get a fill every 2-3 weeks.Any longer can incur an added fee due to excess lashes being lost. If you wait too long or dont care for your lashes and have premature lash loss you will be charged the amount for a new set. Please follow aftercare instructions.

Eyelash Extensions Application

The application process is a completely painless procedure.

  1. We will adhere your lower lashes as they do not get glued to the top lashes.

  2. We will place adhesive tape on your lids to raise your lash line (it is completely painless)

  3. Then we will proceeded with applying the lash extensions.

  4. During the proceedure and after we will turn our facial steamer as the adhesive cures by absorbing moisture in the air (the more humid the room is the faster the lashes cure/dry)

All we ask is that you close your eyes while relaxing to wonderfully soothing music.

Eyelash Extension Aftercare Information:

The eyelash cycle is approximately four to twelve weeks.  Do not be alarmed if some of your lashes fall out quickly (they most likely were at the end of their cycle).  The majority of extensions will stay through a complete cycle if you follow these guidelines:

  • Your natural eyelashes should not get wet for a minimum of two hours;  48 hours would be ideal to allow the adhesive properly to bond to a dry eyelash (soggy eyelashes do not make for a good adhesion).  A dry washcloth can be rolled up and placed over your brows when you shower to protect your extensions from becoming totally saturated.

  • Do not use regular or waterproof mascara.  Most brands of mascara contain chemical properties and oils that will break down the adhesive. Removing mascara from your lashes can cause the extensions to fall off prematurely as well.

  • Take special care around the eye area when cleansing your face. Gently cleanse the eye area and do not scrub or rug your eyes. Avoid any type of oil-based product around the eyes. Again, the oils will break down the adhesive and cause the extensions to fall off.  Resuming with normal activities is ok (i.e. - face washing).  When possible, it is best to wait up to 12 hours.

  • Never use a clamp-style eyelash curler on your extensions.  This can permanently damage not only the extensions, but your natural eyelashes as well.  Eyelash combs are great for grooming your lashes every morning.

  • Adhesives are cured by moisture, however, by avoiding extreme variation of heat, humidity, and cold weather (i.e. – hot showers, saunas, zero degree weather), your extensions can last longer.  Normal activities like swimming, can resume after the appointment.

  • Be sure to schedule a fill appointment every 2 to 3 weeks for timely touch-ups.  This will keep your lashes looking full and beautiful, indefinitely.

  • Do not attempt to remove the extensions yourself.

  • Do not rub your eyes

  • Do not sleep on your lashes

  • Gently comb your lashes daily with provided brush
